Course Objectives:
In the face of high inflation, interest rate hikes, economic tightening, and anxiety over an impending recession, the role of interdisciplinary knowledge for clinicians, including dentists, has never been more crucial. The most critical impact points are competing with the cost-of-living essentials for patients versus paying for non-emergency dental or medical procedures.
The data suggests that treatment of pain and sleep, including temporomandibular and sleep-related disorders, boosts case acceptance by introducing a new and more diverse mix of procedures that will keep clinicians, including dentists, busy and competitive. However, clinicians with interdisciplinary knowledge are uniquely positioned to take advantage of this opportunity, making our program an invaluable resource for professional growth.
This year’s program will focus on a collaborative dental/medical approach to managing temporomandibular joint and sleep-related breathing disorders.
Program participants will learn interdisciplinary dental/medical techniques, procedures, and protocols for prevention, proper management, and comprehensive treatment of patients with Masticatory/TMJ disorders.
*The study club meetings are held as virtual sessions with 15 hours of total continuing dental/medical education through Zoom video conferencing.*
